Job summary

Hy-Vee's Bakery department is seeking a Bakery Assistant Department Manager to oversee daily production, lead the team, train staff, and ensure the cases are stocked with fresh product. You will partner with the Bakery Department Manager to maintain standards and deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers and handling concerns promptly.
• Check orders, set production schedules, and assign tasks to bakers and staff.
• Review daily production list and organize workflow for additional needs.
• Inspect product freshness and rotate display stock as needed.
• Plan ahead for weekly sales and events to meet production requirements.
• Create closing lists and assign duties to part-time staff.
• Ensure department standards for production, cleanliness, and service are met.
• Train and develop bakery staff and oversee performance.
