Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Retail Department Lead for our Allendale, MI location. The role oversees day-to-day department operations in the absence of the department manager, ensuring staff are trained, the department is fully staffed, and KPIs are met.

You will manage inventory, validate orders, lead stocking and rotation, and coordinate with the department manager on scheduling, labor, and goals. Strong communication, leadership, and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Ability to lead a team and manage schedules and labor.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in the department with proper loss prevention.
• Review received orders for amount and quality and store properly.
• Lead a team to stock, produce, and rotate products per guidelines.
• Understand weekly flight plans and schedule as required.
• Support dept manager in staffing, training, and performance management.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked department and follow safety guidelines.
