Job summary

SpartanNash, a leading food solutions company headquartered in Omaha, seeks a Department Lead to manage daily store operations in the absence of the department manager. You will oversee inventory, staffing, training, scheduling, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role requires 0–2 years in retail, strong leadership and communication, and proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Bilingual skills are a plus in some locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years retail experience preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Spanish communication ability desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in the store.
• Order and maintain inventory; validate received orders.
• Supervise stocking, production and related tasks to ensure quality and rotation.
• Develop staffing plans, train associates, and support performance reviews.
• Communicate flight plans and support scheduling, labor and payroll goals.
• Maintain cleanliness and adherence to safety guidelines across the department.
