Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Deli/Bakery Lead in Allendale, MI to oversee daily department operations in the store and support the manager with staffing, training and performance management. You will ensure inventory is ordered, rotated and fresh, while following safety and guest experience guidelines.

The ideal candidate has minimal retail experience but strong leadership and organizational skills, plus proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• 0–2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational, prioritization and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lead and develop associates and manage schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily department operations in the absence of the department manager.
• Order and maintain inventory, ensure freshness and quality.
• Train, schedule, and develop associates; monitor performance and attendance.
• Implement company policies, safety guidelines and loss prevention.
• Use available tools to manage scheduling and payroll expenses.
