The Kroger Co. in North Augusta, SC is seeking a Grocery Clerk for Bakery/Deli to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment.

You will assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals, run samples, and guide customers to products that meet their needs. You will work with bakery equipment, ensure food safety, monitor inventory, and respond to customer questions with helpful recommendations.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills are required.
• Effective communication is essential for teamwork and guest interactions.
• Basic math skills are needed for accuracy in transactions and measuring.
• Must obtain a current food handler's permit once employed.

Responsabilités

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe, using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Understand store layout and locate products on request.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
• Promote trust and respect among associates; make customers feel welcome.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures; identify unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Ability to manage conflict professionally and ethically.
• Honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
