Job summary

The Kroger Co. is hiring for Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to create an outstanding customer experience while maintaining a safe and clean store environment.

You will assist the department manager in achieving department sales and profit goals, monitor quality assurance standards, and uphold the Customer 1st strategy by delivering excellent service. Responsibilities include preparing bakery items to order, offering samples, suggesting items to customers, and using bakery equipment in compliance

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they ordered and ensure correct portion size.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get desired products.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure and mix ingredients as recipes require.
