The Kroger Co. is hiring a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean environment.

You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and ensure compliance with quality assurance standards. Responsibilities include preparing bakery items per customer requests, offering samples, informing customers of specials, and stocking, labeling, and inventorying department merchandise.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills are required.

• Knowledge of basic math is required.
• Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare items per customer requests using bakery equipment.
• Offer samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products matching orders and portion sizes.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to satisfy customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and instructions.
• Measure, mix ingredients using kitchen utensils.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs.
• Promote a welcoming, trustworthy environment for customers.
