Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials
• Provide customers with fresh products ordered and correct portion size
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines
• Prepare foods according to logs and cooking instructions
• Measure, mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
• Label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates
• Use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
• Report discrepancies to the department manager
• Know store layout to locate products on request
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Gain knowledge of department products and respond to questions
• Maintain inventory awareness and record discrepancies
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers with logs
• Promote trust among associates and create welcoming environment
• Answer questions about products to help customers
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures
• Inspect equipment and report repairs
• Notify management of accidents
• Work cooperatively in high paced environments
• Ability to manage conflicts
