Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create welcoming environment for customers; answer questions about bakery products.
• Gain knowledge of bakery products and respond to inquiries with suggestions.
• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new bakery items.
• Inform customers of bakery specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, mix ingredients per recipe with kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock, and inventory bakery merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and assist customers with store layout knowledge.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; monitor inventory levels.
• Follow food safety regulations and ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report needs for repair.
• Notify management of accidents or safety risks.
