Job summary

El Super is hiring a Bakery Clerk for the Las Vegas Sahara location. The role involves assisting customers with bakery purchases, maintaining clean display cases, and coordinating with the Baker on baking/decorating needs.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with bakery purchases and special orders.
• Clean shelving and display cases, fill, and rotate the self‑serve displays that are both in the front of the store and adjacent to the store bakery.
• Work with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated.
• Help keep the department clean by hosing down the floors with soap and water.
• Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department.
• Maintain a fast‑paced work environment, meeting the physical requirements of lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, and visual and auditory tasks.
• Hold a Food Handlers Card or its equivalent certification.
