Job summary

El Super is hiring a Bakery Clerk at Fontana, CA to assist customers in the bakery, stock displays, take special orders, and coordinate with the bakery team. The role requires physical activity including lifting and standing for extended periods, within a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous customer service in the bakery.
• Assist customers with bakery purchases and handle special orders.
• Clean shelving and display cases; rotate self-serve displays near bakery.
• Coordinate with Baker on items to bake or decorate.
• Support department cleanliness and safe working conditions.
