Panera Bread in Southfield, MI is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a beloved bakery-cafe team. You will partner with the General Manager to oversee operations, delight guests, and grow the business while hiring, training, and developing your location.

You will drive staffing, schedules, and performance, maintain quality standards, and uphold Panera's values. This role requires flexibility, the ability to stand for long periods, and a focus on teamwork and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop others in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager by making key decisions and solving problems.
• Plan and manage staffing, shift scheduling, and people development.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Motivate, energize, engage, and celebrate the team.
• Ensure bakery-cafe goals, quality standards, and guest service expectations are met.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop managers on processes and Panera Values.
• Ensure guests are delighted by food, service, and team.
• Build relationships that foster loyal guests and team collaboration.
• Follow procedures to execute company strategies and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and local regulations.
• Maintain a healthy and safe workplace compliant with health standards.
