Job summary

Panera LLC in Livonia, MI is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a beloved bakery-cafe team, drive guest satisfaction, and contribute to business growth. You will partner with the General Manager on operations, hiring, training, and developing staff while upholding Panera’s Guiding Values.

You’ll manage shifts, support scheduling, and foster a culture of warmth, belonging, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.
• Proven ability to lead shifts while directing, motivating, coaching and developing others in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends, in a high-energy setting.
• Background check required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 6 hours.

Responsibilities

• Support your General Manager by making key decisions and problem solving.
• Plan and manage staffing needs, shift scheduling, people development, career development, and succession planning.
• Assist with hiring, on-boarding, and training of new team members while motivating and celebrating the team.
• Assist with managing team performance to ensure bakery-cafe goals, operational and quality standards, and guest service expectations.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop managers on processes and Panera values.
• Work as a team to ensure every guest is delighted by food, service, and team.
• Build engaging relationships that lead to long-term, loyal guests as part of the bakery-cafe team.
• Follow procedures to execute company strategies and initiatives.
• Ensure team follows policies and complies with regulations.
• Maintain a healthy and safe workplace per Panera standards.
• Assist in maintaining bakery-cafe costs and inventory.
• Help build a Culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust.
