Job summary

Panera Bread in Ann Arbor is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a beloved neighborhood bakery-cafe to sweet success. You’ll inspire your team, partner with the General Manager to oversee operations, delight guests daily, and grow the business while taking ownership of hiring, training, and development.

You’ll plan staffing, manage scheduling, develop people, ensure quality standards, and create a warm, safe, and high-performing workplace in line with Panera’s Guiding Values.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.
• Proven availability to run great shifts while directing, motivating, coaching and developing others in a fast-paced environment.
• Role requires flexible hours including nights and weekends in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Background check required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for up to 6 hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead and celebrate your team, partner with the General Manager to oversee operations and guest satisfaction.
• Plan staffing, shift scheduling, people development, and succession planning.
• Hire, onboard, train, and develop team members while motivating and engaging the whole team.
• Assist with managing team performance to meet bakery-cafe goals and quality standards.
• Develop managers on processes and Panera’s guiding values and behaviors.
• Collaborate to ensure guests are delighted by food, service, and team.
