Job summary

The University of Wisconsin Colleges is seeking a Baker to support the daily bakery operations in Milwaukee. This onsite role collaborates with students and staff to produce high-quality baked goods and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities include preparing yeast breads, assisting in recipe development, training student workers, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Qualified candidates have at least six months of food service experience; ServSafe or equivalent

Qualifications

• Six months of food service experience in a professional setting.
• Preferred: one year of food service experience in a professional setting.
• ServSafe Certification, Food Handler or Manager certification preferred.
• Experience leading and/or training staff preferred.
• Customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of baked goods including yeast products.
• Assist student employees and provide training as needed.
• Assist with recipe and menu development and testing.
• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Cleans, inspects and maintains bakery equipment and work areas to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures.
