Job summary

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Buffalo, NY is seeking a reliable Baker to join our kitchen team. You will prepare a variety of pies, muffins, cookies, quiche, and other baked items, following recipes and adjusted for volume while upholding quality standards.

You will monitor oven temperatures, portion dough, and ensure proper food safety and sanitation. The role requires good time management and teamwork in a fast-paced setting, with opportunities for growth in a long-standing family restaurant.

Qualifications

• Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service taught through in-house training.
• Must be able to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work well-groomed in clean uniform and maintains personal hygiene.
• Makes and prepares baked items such as pies, muffins, cookies, quiche, meatloaf and ribs.
• Adjusts oven controls to regulate temperature.
• Monitors temperatures to ensure food safety and avoid contamination.
• Measures ingredients and portions dough; shapes and places on sheets or pans.
• Prepares meats or baked foods according to recipes using kitchen utensils.
• Tests foods for doneness by tasting, smelling, and checking texture.
• Serves high quality food and ensures items are attractive and complete.
• During peak times, works on steam kettles and grill line.
• Maintains cleanliness of kitchen stations and manages time effectively.
