Job summary

Paris Baguette Gold Coast in Chicago is seeking a dedicated Baker responsible for crafting donuts, breads and pastries to Brand Standards, and for maintaining a clean, organized workstation.

You will fry donuts, decorate, scale portions, and support training while upholding Food Safety policies. Previous Paris Baguette experience is a plus, with a HS diploma and Illinois food certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of food handling/store experience; Paris Baguette experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Illinois Food Certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Fry donuts, add toppings, and decorate pastries and bread.
• Execute day-to-day kitchen operations and production.
• Perform general oven duties including baking and dough conditioning.
• Prepare materials, ingredients, and production numbers per Brand Standards.
• Scale and shape breads, loaves, and pastries.
• Ensure sanitation and maintain cleanliness of workstation.
• Adhere to food safety policies and proper labeling.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and managing supplies.
• Support training of coworkers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fry donuts, place toppings, and decorate on the needed pastries and bread.
• Executing day-to-day kitchen operations and production
• General Oven Duties: Baking, checking dough conditioner, and preparing all desserts to Brand Standards.
• Prepare all needed materials, ingredients, catering, and production numbers accurately to Brand Standards.
• Responsible for scaling and shaping of all breads, loaves, and pastries.
• Sanitization procedures, maintaining overall cleanliness of workstation and kitchen.
• General knowledge of production methods and organization of bread production.
• Must be able to prioritize and finish all daily tasks assigned.
• Receive and organize deliveries in designated containers and storage areas.
• Inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and manage when food supplies are getting low.
• Complete various reports for records such as production, usage, and waste.
• Adhere to Food Safety Policies and ensure proper labeling of all containers storing food or chemicals.
• Support coworkers in training initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of one year of food handling/store experience, Paris Baguette experience preferred.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Illinois Food Certification, or the ability to become certified.
