Job summary

The Bakery at Restaura is seeking a dedicated Baker to craft breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods for residents, patients, and guests. You will follow recipes, ensure food safety, and collaborate with the culinary team to deliver high-quality, comforting products.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of commercial baking, know how to read production sheets, and are reliable with early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays. ServSafe is preferred or obtainable within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of baking experience in a commercial, institutional, or restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake breads, rolls, muffins, cakes, pies, cookies, and other desserts from scratch and from established recipes.
• Follow standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and production schedules to meet daily menu needs.
• Adapt baked goods for therapeutic and special diets as directed.
• Decorate and present items with care for special events and resident celebrations.
• Maintain a clean, organized bakery area in line with food safety standards.
• Label, date, and store ingredients and finished products using FIFO.
• Monitor inventory of baking supplies and communicate needs to the Chef or Culinary Director.
• Operate bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, proofers, and sheeters.
• Support other kitchen stations as needed.

The Role

As a Baker, you'll prepare fresh breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods that bring comfort and joy to the residents, patients, and guests we serve. You'll work closely with the culinary team to deliver consistent, high-quality products while following recipes, dietary guidelines, and food safety standards.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and bake breads, rolls, muffins, cakes, pies, cookies, and other desserts from scratch and from established recipes
• Follow standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and production schedules to meet daily menu needs
• Adapt baked goods for therapeutic and special diets (such as low sugar, low sodium, texture-modified, and allergen-conscious items) as directed
• Decorate and present items with care, including for special events, holidays, and resident celebrations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bakery area in line with food safety and health code requirements
• Properly label, date, and store ingredients and finished products using FIFO rotation
• Monitor inventory of baking supplies and communicate needs to the Chef or Culinary Director
• Operate and care for bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens, proofers, and sheeters
• Support other kitchen stations and team members as needed

What You Bring

• 1+ year of baking experience in a commercial, institutional, or restaurant setting preferred
• Working knowledge of baking techniques, measurements, and recipe scaling
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within [30] days of hire
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production sheets
• Strong attention to detail, pride in presentation, and a team-first attitude
• Reliability and flexibility, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
