Job summary

PopUp Bagels is seeking a Bagel Sous to support Shop Leaders in our scratch-based kitchen. You will lead pre-shifts, train teammates, manage prep lists and inventory, and ensure dishes meet our standards.

This hourly role offers growth, competitive pay ($20-24/hour), paid time off, flexible scheduling, and free bagels with Schmear daily. You should have 1+ year leadership in restaurant/hospitality and a Food Safety Certification, plus a willingness to roll up your sleeves.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in a restaurant/hospitality environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A desire to create exceptional employee and guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate correct culinary standards, warm hospitality, and a great attitude.
• Train teammates on each station, seasonal recipes, kitchen standards and procedures.
• Work with the Bagel Chef to manage prep lists, waste logs and food inventory.
• Delegate work and follow deployment and breaks as scheduled.
• Open and close the restaurant using checklists and thorough communication.
• Lead pre-shifts and contribute to the Chef's agenda.
