Job summary

PopUp Bagels Times Square is seeking a Bagel Sous to support shop leaders in a scratch-based kitchen, mastering each station and ensuring recipes, processes, and procedures are executed consistently. You will lead pre-shifts, assist with shift management, and train teammates to elevate overall restaurant knowledge and service.

The role is hourly, with growth opportunities in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in a restaurant/hospitality environment.
• Food Safety Certification is required.
• Must be able to perform physical requirements (lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate correct culinary standards, warm hospitality, and a positive attitude.
• Train teammates on stations, seasonal recipes, kitchen standards, and procedures.
• Manage prep lists, waste logs, and food inventory with the kitchen team.
• Delegate tasks and follow deployment and break schedules.
• Open and close the restaurant using checklists and clear communication.
• Lead pre-shifts and support the Chef’s agenda.
• Ensure accurate order presentation for dine-in, takeout, and delivery.
• Address guest concerns and assist with digital ordering and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain health and safety standards to achieve a top hygiene grade.
