Job summary

PopUp Bagels Westport is hiring a Bagel Sous to support shop leaders in a scratch-based kitchen. You will master each bagel station, train teammates, and help manage prep, inventory, and shifts with reliability and a strong team mindset.

You will open and close the restaurant, lead pre-shifts, and ensure order accuracy across dine-in, pickup, and delivery. This hourly role offers growth opportunities and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A desire to create exceptional employee and guest experiences.
• An eye for detail and solving challenges.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate correct culinary standards, warm hospitality, and a great attitude.
• Train teammates on stations, recipes, kitchen standards and procedures.
• Manage prep lists, waste logs, and food inventory with the Bagel Chef.
• Delegate tasks and follow deployment and break schedules.
• Open and close the restaurant using checklists and clear communication.
• Lead pre-shifts and contribute to the Chef’s agenda.
• Ensure food presentation and order accuracy for all orders.
• Develop solutions for guest concerns and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain DoH standards and food safety compliance.
• Adapt duties as needed by business requirements.
