Job summary

Knight Transportation in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Backhaul Coordinator to identify, secure, and manage backhaul freight, optimizing asset utilization and profitability while maintaining high customer satisfaction. You will balance customer relationships, capacity planning, cost analysis and execution, enter load data into the TMS, monitor shipments, and participate in performance reviews with customers.

Qualifications

Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Prior customer service experience in transportation preferred.
Strong telephone skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Identify, secure, and manage backhaul freight to optimize asset utilization and profitability.
Balance customer relationships, capacity planning, cost analysis, and execution to support company objectives.
Enter all customer load information into the Transportation Management System (TMS) and maintain account data.
Monitor loads, communicate exceptions, and support timely billing and invoice accuracy.
Develop and maintain customer relationships and negotiate pricing to secure profitable freight.
