Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Software Engineer (L2) to help build and scale Stytch’s identity capabilities across Twilio’s platform. You’ll design and implement backend services, authentication flows, and developer-friendly tooling to support secure, scalable customer experiences.

You will join a remote-first team, collaborating with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-impact features while maintaining Twilio’s startup-speed ethos backed by broad scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in designing, building and operating high-scale, mission critical cloud based production systems.
• Familiarity with a production-grade code base in a modern programming language, applying best practice coding standards and writing high quality code.
• Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Schedule: ability to work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours.
• Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, and DynamoDB
• Experience building developer tools or SDKs
• Experience building and owning products consumed by paying customers

Responsibilities

• Build backend product capabilities for Stytch’s identity platform on Twilio—shipping new API surfaces and core authentication flows, including agentic and non-human identity use cases.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to set direction, translate customer needs into product capabilities, and deliver high-impact roadmap features.
• Collaborate across Twilio and Stytch teams to align on architecture, integrate platform capabilities, and unblock cross-team initiatives.
• Operate with deep technical ownership: author design docs, drive key technical decisions, review code, and stay close to the systems you ship.
• Build in ambiguity—break down complex problems, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and design developer experiences that delight our customers.
• Improve production quality and resilience through strong observability, incident response and remediation.
• Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, feedback, and knowledge-sharing, helping raise the team’s technical bar and culture.
