Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is hiring a hands‑on, mid‑engineering backend security engineer focused on CIAM capabilities. You’ll build and maintain services powering registration, login, authorization and account lifecycle for B2C/B2B experiences.

You’ll work with Okta, Auth0, and ForgeRock, turning requirements into secure, scalable software. You will mentor peers, review code, and participate in design, tests, and production deployment.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development with Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with APIs, databases and version control.
• Interest in secure, reliable customer experiences and CIAM concepts.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship authentication features from login to MFA and device binding.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin for secure account access.
• Integrate with identity technologies like Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock across web, mobile and partner apps.
• Contribute to design, write clean code and automated tests, and deploy to production with team support.
• Debug services, improve reliability, and use logs/metrics to understand production behavior.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and security teams and grow in secure development practices.
