Job summary

Carpet City Flooring Center in Wausau, WI seeks a driven Business Development Representative to expand the customer base in Central Wisconsin. You’ll build relationships, prospect new accounts, and turn opportunities into repeat business with support from an established showroom and operations team.

You bring sales experience, initiative, and a people-focused approach; no flooring knowledge required. High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in B2B sales or outside sales is highly valued.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prospect, follow up, and close new business.
• Comfort working with multiple stakeholders and building relationships.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business: identify and pursue opportunities with builders, contractors, property managers, remodelers, and local businesses.
• Build your network: develop relationships through calls, referrals, networking, and in-person meetings.
• Grow customer accounts: turn new connections into long-term business relationships and repeat sales.
• Manage the sales process: meet with customers, understand project needs, recommend flooring solutions, and prepare quotes.
• Close opportunities: follow up consistently and convert prospects into customers.
• Collaborate with the showroom and operations teams to ensure successful projects.
• Support showroom sales while developing new business.
