Job summary

SC Works Trident in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support scalable Azure infrastructure for enterprise applications, ensuring the reliability and performance of production environments.

You will own incident response, participate in a shared on-call rotation, and collaborate with Database, Release, and other infra teams to drive automation and observability using Datadog and Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems/infrastructure engineering or production support.
• Hands-on Azure cloud infrastructure experience.
• Experience owning production environments including incident response.
• Proficiency with Datadog monitoring and observability tools.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD/work management.
• Strong troubleshooting across networks, servers, storage, cloud infra, and apps.
• Automation development with PowerShell or Python.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support scalable Azure infrastructure for enterprise applications.
• Own day-to-day operational health of production systems for high availability and performance.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation for infrastructure incidents.
• Implement SRE practices: monitoring, automation, and alerting.
• Identify risks, monitoring gaps, and capacity concerns before impact.
• Use Datadog or similar tools to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Troubleshoot across networking, compute, storage, cloud infra, and apps.
• Collaborate with Database, Release, and other infra teams to improve deployments.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
• Create and maintain runbooks and ops procedures.
• Research new tech and recommend reliability improvements.
