Intellias is seeking an Azure Lead Engineer to own the technical direction of a large Azure-based platform. You will drive Landing Zones, governance, security, networking, automation, reliability and FinOps, collaborating with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Product and Operations to deliver a secure and scalable cloud environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, mentoring, design reviews and cross-team coordination to ensure audit-ready evidence and documented exception handling

Qualifications

• Five or more years in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering with hands-on Azure experience.
• Proven design and operation of enterprise Azure platforms and Landing Zones.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Governance, Policy, Entra ID, RBAC, Monitoring and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Own the Azure technical roadmap and reference architectures.
• Lead architecture reviews and decision making; communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Mentor engineers and reduce SME dependency.
• Design, evolve and operate enterprise Azure Landing Zones, governance and security.
• Implement policy-driven governance, RBAC, privileged access, tagging, and monitoring.
• Partner with Security, Architecture and Compliance teams to remediate risks and maintain audit-ready evidence.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and automated lifecycle management with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build self-service subscription and platform capabilities with clear product interfaces and ownership.
• Control configuration drift, improve repeatability and minimise manual work.
• Establish observability, operational readiness, backup/recovery and incident-management standards.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and cost optimisation efforts.
