Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Principal Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate secure Azure infrastructure and platform services for large-scale workloads. You will work in agile pods with cloud, data, security, and risk teams to deliver scalable, reusable platform capabilities.

The role emphasizes IaC, CI/CD, and governance with a focus on operational excellence and secure-by-design cloud native patterns.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience engineering Microsoft Azure in large-scale or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of Azure platforming, networking, identity, access management, and governance.
• Experience designing for scalability, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and operate production Azure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Azure cloud infrastructure and shared platform services.
• Implement and maintain Azure landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity, and governance.
• Build Azure PaaS, containers, and managed services as reusable platform capabilities.
• Ensure platforms meet scalability, resilience, performance, cost efficiency, and reuse.
• Apply DevOps and SRE practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness.
