Job summary

1872 Consulting is seeking a technical leader to shape the architecture of an Azure‑based event-driven platform and lead .NET backend development. You will manage a team of engineers and contractors, defining how the team grows and operates as the product scales.

You will mentor staff, drive cloud-native patterns, and collaborate with senior leaders to align architecture with business goals in a hybrid work environment across major U.S. offices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, including cloud-based applications.
• 3+ years directly leading and developing software teams.
• Experience delivering greenfield, enterprise-grade applications.
• Experience with .NET, React, and Azure or equivalent tech.
• Ability to mentor on cloud-native patterns and distributed systems.
• Strong communication with senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent cloud-architecture expertise.
• Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve a distributed Azure-based platform with containerized services.
• Lead backend development in .NET and set quality bar in code reviews.
• Own multi-stage Azure DevOps YAML pipelines for infra and deployments.
• Improve platform performance, cost, and operational simplicity.
• Mentor engineers and grow cloud skills across the team.
• Partner with senior leadership and act as backup to your manager.
