Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Principal Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure. You will work in cross-functional pods to advance Azure platform capabilities, reusable deployment patterns, and foundational services across the Azure ecosystem.

Role emphasizes DevOps, IaC, security-by-design, and operational excellence. You will partner with engineering and risk teams to enable cloud adoption and maintain robust governance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Azure engineering in large-scale or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of Azure platforming, networking, identity, access management, and governance.
• Experience designing for scalability, reliability, performance and cost efficiency.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and operate production Azure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate Azure cloud infrastructure and shared platform services.
• Implement and maintain Azure landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity and governance.
• Build Azure PaaS, containers, and managed services as reusable platform capabilities.
• Ensure platforms meet scalability, resilience, performance, cost efficiency and reuse.
• Apply DevOps and SRE practices including CI/CD, monitoring, alerting and operational readiness.
• Build and operationalize foundational platform services and tooling for engineering teams.
