Job summary

Goodwill Central Texas is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Azure, Windows Server, and automation. You will work across teams and vendors to ensure secure, scalable systems.

Responsibilities include patching, vulnerability remediation, IaC, monitoring, disaster recovery, and documentation. This role requires strong troubleshooting and communication skills and availability for after-hours maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT/CS or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, or related roles.
• Strong experience managing Windows Server environments and virtualization platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and administration.
• Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN/VPN/firewall concepts, with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Experience with patch management tools and remediation processes.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, storage platforms, and core infrastructure systems.
• Administer and manage cloud services, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Design, implement, and maintain network solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Manage patching and vulnerability remediation processes.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using IaC and scripting.
• Monitor health, performance, and capacity and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with IT teams to support deployments, integrations, and upgrades.
• Serve as liaison with third-party vendors and MSPs.
• Participate in lifecycle planning and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Assist with disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and DR testing.
