Job summary

SHI is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead Azure-based cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and automation. You will develop reusable IaC modules with Terraform, automate provisioning with Python and Bash, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

You will build container environments with Docker and Kubernetes, drive cost optimization, enforce security practices, and mentor junior engineers. Remote-friendly role with travel to events as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of cloud infrastructure experience with expertise in Microsoft Azure and other major cloud platforms.
• Designing and implementing Terraform modules, managing state, and building IaC pipelines at scale.
• Scripting in Python with demonstrated ability to build complex automation frameworks and integrations.
• Advanced Bash scripting and Linux system administration, including automation, orchestration, and performance tuning.
• Production experience administering CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions, including pipelines and Groovy-based scripts.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including orchestration, scaling, and troubleshooting containerized applications.
• Deep understanding of Azure IAM, RBAC, Azure Policy, and cloud security principles.
• Proven experience with Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior engineers.
• Active willingness to travel to SHI events and customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of Azure-based cloud infrastructure with a focus on automation, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Architect and develop reusable Terraform modules and frameworks.
• Design and implement advanced automation solutions using Python and Bash for provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts for Linux system orchestration, configuration, and automation workflows.
• Administer and optimize CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub Actions, including Groovy-based pipelines and shared libraries.
• Build and maintain Docker and Kubernetes-based container environments for production deployments.
• Lead incident response, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with software and DevOps teams to translate requirements into secure cloud architectures.
• Establish and enforce cloud security best practices, governance, and compliance.
• Create documentation including architectural diagrams, automation workflows, runbooks, and standards.
• Mentor junior cloud engineers and drive continuous improvement in infrastructure efficiency.
