Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support USTRANSCOM at Scott AFB, Illinois, owning the foundational AWS ecosystem where web pages live. You will architect, deploy, and secure cloud infrastructure, with emphasis on GovCloud, containers, and CI/CD.

The role requires DoD clearance, AWS certifications, and hands-on experience with ECS/EKS/ECR, Terraform, and GitLab pipelines, with occasional after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• AWS Cloud Engineer Certification with hands-on AWS experience.
• At least one IAT Level II certification (Security+, CEH, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
• CE certification or equivalent for cloud/virtualization (Azure, AWS, etc.).
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9 command line administration.
• Experience with ECS, EKS, and ECR in AWS.
• Experience with government customer configuration and change management.
• Experience with a CMS administration in cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architecture and implement AWS GovCloud and maintain resilient hosting environments for web assets using ECS Fargate/EKS/containers.
• The AWS Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable and secure website infrastructure in AWS GovCloud.
• Emphasize Cloud security, compliance, and resiliency.
• Migrate and refactor web infrastructure into containers.
• Manage static and dynamic hosting architectures.
• Proven experience with CI/CD engineering (GitLab, Terraform).
• Experience with blue/green deployment methodology.
• Provide DoD-aligned documentation and governance.
