Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Dallas, TX is seeking an Operations Engineer to join our Support team. You will help customers deploy and operate mission-critical applications across a growing set of cloud services, owning incidents and driving fast resolutions.

Ideal candidates have Linux/Unix/Windows experience, solid scripting skills, and a customer-focused mindset. You will build automation with CloudFormation and contribute to internal tools, tutorials, and knowledge sharing with the AWS

Qualifications

• 6+ months of software development with object oriented language experience.
• 6+ months of scripting language experience.
• 6+ months of network and operating system support experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or 6+ months of technical support experience.
• 3+ years of customer service, or 2+ years of technical support experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and solve challenging operational issues in a complex enterprise environment.
• Supporting fleets of server instances interacting with multiple services across several AWS regions.
• Work directly with technical teams from AWS enterprise, customers and partners to provide unique solutions to customer needs.
• Build and maintain CloudFormation templates and scripts to automate and deploy AWS resources.
• Collaborate and help build utilities and tools for internal use to operate safely at high speed and scale.
• Drive customer communication during critical events.
• Create tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for the AWS customer community.
• Work on critical, highly complex customer incidents that span multiple AWS services.
