Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Operations Engineer II for AWS Managed Services in Dallas, TX. You will operate the Managed Service platform, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with internal teams to meet customer infrastructure needs.

You will drive improvements, mentor teammates, and act as escalation point during outages while leveraging cloud-automation and virtualization technologies. A strong background in networking and OS support is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
4+ years of network and operating system support experience.
4+ years of virtualization, orchestration and cloud computing experience (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen).

Responsibilities

Operate the Managed Service platform and collaborate with internal service teams to meet customer infrastructure needs.
Troubleshoot complex issues and reproduce customer issues to drive root-cause analysis.
Build and maintain utilities and tools for safe high-speed operation at scale.
Identify and drive improvements to technical processes.
Serve as an escalation point and mentor to less experienced engineers.
Provide voice of the customer to internal AWS teams during incidents.
Lead customer communications during critical events.
Learn and leverage new cloud technologies.
