Job summary

Axos Bank seeks an AVP/VP, Commercial Quality Control to lead the first-line QC for Commercial Lending and operations, driving automation and AI-assisted reviews using Claude and n8n. You will own the QC team, roadmap, and regulatory reviews (HMDA, UCC, RegB, Flood) to keep processes audit-ready.

You will manage a blended onshore/offshore team, partner with Lending, Internal Audit, and Operations, and represent QC in AI governance. Strong leadership and regulatory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• 5+ years in quality control, quality assurance, audit, or operations leadership within commercial lending or banking.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience, including offshore/onshore teams.
• Direct experience sponsoring or utilizing AI and automation tools (e.g., Claude, other GenAI platforms, or low-code/no-code automation solutions) in a quality, review, or operational environment.
• Working knowledge of HMDA, UCC, Reg B, and Flood regulations.
• Proven experience managing internal and external audit and examination relationships, including remediation plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage blended onshore and offshore QC team.
• Own first-line QC review programs across Commercial Lending credit and operations.
• Own and prioritize the CQC AI roadmap and sponsor automation using Claude and n8n.
• Partner with analysts to validate workflows and calibrate human-review posture.
• Represent QC in the bank's AI governance process and ensure compliance with model risk standards.
• Coordinate audit findings remediation and on-time closure across 2LOD/3LOD.
