Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) in Boston is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Technology Strategic Partnerships to lead vendor strategy, optimization, and governance across our Technology Strategy & Planning team. You will oversee over 125 vendor relationships and roughly $90 million in annual technology spend, driving measurable value and improvements.

The role requires a senior, strategic leader who can align portfolios, manage external partnerships, and influence

Qualifications

• 12+ years in technology vendor management, strategy and operations.
• Strong understanding of software, SaaS, cloud, licensing and consumption models.
• Proven success developing and executing vendor strategies that deliver savings and service improvements.
• Strong financial and analytical skills in vendor spending, utilization, budgets and savings validation.
• Experience strengthening strategic technical vendor relationships through scorecards and reviews.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated industries preferred.
• Experience with global/offshore technology delivery and workforce planning.
• Strong executive communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evolve BHSI’s technology vendor strategy, governance framework, standards, and operating model.
• Build a cross-Technology view of vendor spend, commitments, performance, and dependencies.
• Analyze vendor spending, utilization, and capacity to identify waste and savings.
• Drive vendor consolidation to reduce overlap and improve cost efficiency.
• Drive workforce and sourcing improvements, including services and partnerships.
• Strengthen supplier relationships through scorecards, reviews, and governance.
