Job summary

PURE Insurance in Boston, MA seeks an AVP, Product Management - Underwriting & Product Technology to govern technology prioritization across underwriting and product teams. You will create a single view of demand and capacity, run governance forums, and drive decisions on what gets done.

You will own and refine the cross-team backlog, coordinate with business owners and IT leaders, and shape an operating model that scales with business needs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product management, ownership, program management, or technology portfolio management with cross-team prioritization.
• Personal lines insurance background with underwriting knowledge.
• Ability to prioritize under competing demands and drive decisions.
• Extremely organized handling a large volume of requests across many teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including running decision forums with senior stakeholders.
• Experience building operating processes from scratch ( intake, governance, cadences, reporting).
• Familiarity with agile practices: backlogs, epics/features, capacity planning, iterative refinement.

Responsibilities

• Define the prioritization framework for technology work across Underwriting and Product.
• Design and run the operating model with governance forums, agendas, and status reporting.
• Own and refine the cross-team backlog to stay aligned with business objectives.
• Facilitate prioritization forums, drive clear decisions, and manage trade-offs.
• Partner with IT leadership on capacity planning, sizing, and breakdown from epic to feature.
• Define what the business must provide for a request to be ready for development and improve requirement documentation.
