Job summary

AmericanAg®, a global provider of diversified reinsurance services, is seeking an entrepreneurial Casualty & Specialty Treaty Underwriter to join its Broker Assumed operation in Schaumburg, IL. This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days in the office and up to 25% travel.

You will help develop underwriting strategy, build out casualty and specialty treaty portfolios, and expand our footprint in the marketplace while maintaining strong governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of casualty or specialty reinsurance underwriting experience.
• Experience in treaty business and policy development.
• Proven ability to grow profitable portfolios.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting new and renewal casualty and professional liability programs.
• Develop broker relationships to build business opportunities.
• Identify clients aligned with appetite and portfolio.
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize portfolio performance.
• Review, negotiate, and finalize treaty wordings with legal.
• Represent AmericanAg at industry forums and client engagements.
