Job summary

Zurich is seeking an experienced AVP, Underwriting Director – Large Casualty to join the National Account Team. The role can be located in San Francisco, Los Angeles or Denver with a Hybrid schedule.

You will underwrite and analyze complex Large Casualty risks, manage broker relationships, and advise on pricing and negotiation to drive profitable growth. This market-facing position requires deep casualty expertise, a strong control of underwriting guidelines, and the ability to operate within

Qualifications

• Underwriting or market-facing experience with casualty lines.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 7+ years experience in underwriting/market-facing areas OR 14+ in claims/underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 5+ years in underwriting/market-facing OR 12+ years in claims/underwriting support.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting, analyzing, and generating new and renewal business
• Market facing and production within the Large Casualty, National Accounts division
• Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules
• Developing and maintaining broker relationships in the San Francisco/Northern CA region
• Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments
