Munich Re Specialty - North America is actively seeking an experienced professional for its E&S Casualty team in Chicago, IL. You will underwrite and market excess and surplus lines, building profitable portfolios while cultivating strong wholesale broker relationships.

The role emphasizes strategic execution, data-driven portfolio management, and collaboration across business units to deliver holistic solutions for clients. Travel up to 20–30% may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in insurance or reinsurance focusing on E&S casualty lines.
• Excellent underwriting, marketing and analytical skills.
• Advanced insurance certifications (e.g. CPCU) preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge of Commercial P&C / E&S products and UW processes.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, market, quote, bind and retain a profitable E&S casualty book within authority guidelines.
• Develop and execute production strategies to maximize growth and rate goals.
• Measure portfolio progress by analyzing underwriting data and industry practices.
• Cultivate and maintain professional wholesale broker relationships.
• Represent the Munich Re brand at client events and seminars.
• Assist in day-to-day operations and projects with cross-functional impact.
