Job summary

D.O.M. magazine is seeking a skilled aviation professional to join its team as an Avionics Technician III. You will install, test, troubleshoot and repair avionics components, and maintain test equipment, tools, and manuals in accordance with FCC, FAA and company policies.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED with 5+ years of related experience; a higher degree may substitute. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

As an Avionics Technician III, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance according to FCC, FAA and company policies and regulations. You'll be responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing avionics components, and maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Ability to understand and interpret basic applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings
  • Advanced skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniques
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL
  • Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required

This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs. Estimated Starting Salary Range: $30.35 - $41.73. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
