Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Avionics Electronics Technician to perform testing, troubleshooting, repair and modification of avionics equipment in line with Workmanship and Quality Standards. This is a first-shift onsite role with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule.

The position entails testing electrical equipment, reprogramming gear, and applying Service Bulletins under supervision. FAA safety requirements and pre-employment screenings apply.

Qualifications

  • AA/AS degree or higher with minimum 6 years of relevant experience, or HS diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Electronics maintenance industry experience or education required.
  • Must have prior experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.
  • Position considered safety sensitive per FAA guidelines.
  • Candidate will be subject to FAA drug and alcohol testing per 14 CFR part 120 and 49 CFR part 40.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Utilizes standard and custom test equipment including oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and automated test equipment.
  • Reprograms equipment and identifies possible failures with established procedures.
  • Aligns and adjusts advanced electrical components to ensure proper functioning of circuits.
  • Conducts functional tests to check operation of test stations, components and systems.
  • Analyzes circuitry and wiring to locate malfunction sources during testing.
  • Performs disassembly/assembly of units for difficult repair operations.
  • Installs modifications as per Service Bulletin or other documentation.
