Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Senior Manager to lead the Avionics Packaging group within the Lunar Permanence division. You will guide mechanical engineers in design, analysis and testing of avionics enclosures, while coordinating staffing, budgets, and project delivery to advance lunar transportation systems.

You will balance technical leadership with people management, drive standards and tools usage, and mentor engineers to build a high-performance team contributing to cost reduction and schedule

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years managing technical teams with responsibility for technical quality and career management.
• 4+ years of experience with static structural, modal, random vibration, and thermal analysis.
• Experience designing ruggedized electronics enclosures or similar hardware.
• History of managing schedules, budgets, and headcount.
• Experience working with customers, suppliers, fabricators, and distributors.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and communicate status effectively.
• Familiarity with Creo, ANSYS, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and environmental testing.

Responsibilities

• Supply people, processes, and tools to meet project demands.
• Negotiate Statements of Work with product managers.
• Staff projects by reconciling needs with capabilities and time commitments.
• Recruit and hire additional staff or contract labor as needed when demand exceeds capacity.
• Coach direct reports and manage performance reviews and development.
• Ensure training and safety culture adherence for staff.
• Set team goals aligned with group and business unit objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight of avionics enclosure design and analysis.
