Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Avionics Packaging team within the Core Avionics group of the Lunar Permanence unit. You will supervise mechanical engineers and specialists, guiding design, analysis, testing, and reviews of avionics enclosures for PCBs and electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for technical quality.
• 4+ years of experience with static structural, modal, random vibration, and thermal analysis.
• Experience designing ruggedized electronics enclosures or similar high-performance hardware.
• History of developing solutions with partially defined requirements and changing criteria.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, and headcount.
• Experience working with customers, suppliers, and fabricators.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Supply people, processes, and tools needed to meet project demands.
• Negotiate Statements of Work with product managers.
• Staff projects, reconciling needs with capabilities and time commitments.
• Recruit and hire additional staff or secure contract labor as needed.
• Manage direct reports’ professional development and performance reviews.
• Ensure staff are trained including safety culture participation.
• Provide status updates to upper management and budget input.
• Lead development of tools, standards, and processes for avionics enclosure design and analysis.
• Offer technical leadership and review across the team.
