Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks an Avionics NPI & Sustaining Engineering Manager to lead production-facing engineering for avionics bus LRUs. You will guide a team through new product introduction and sustaining efforts, prioritizing issues, driving design and process improvements, and coordinating with design, manufacturing, and operations to ensure robust production support.

The role requires strong leadership, RCA skills, and deep experience in hardware development and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years hardware development, test, sustaining engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years in a management or team-lead role.
• Experience supporting electronics hardware across product lifecycle.
• Experience leading root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Experience with PCBA-level hardware, electrical test, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team for new product introduction and sustaining engineering across avionics LRUs.
• Own production-facing engineering support model for released avionics hardware.
• Drive transition of hardware from development into production.
• Provide rapid technical response to production issues and containment actions.
• Establish MRB ownership and production troubleshooting processes across portfolio.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and operations to improve hardware and processes.
• Use production data to identify systemic improvement opportunities.
• Improve manufacturing test flows and engineering documentation.
• Balance immediate needs with long-term scalability.
