Job summary

FlightSafety International Inc in Hazelwood, MO is seeking a Mechanical Design Drafter to develop detailed drawings from engineering data, create 2D layouts and 3D models, and provide support for training equipment production.

Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years in design, experience with SolidWorks and PLM, strong communication, and the ability to work across teams and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of related experience preferred.
• SolidWorks experience with 2D/3D drafting and design for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop original design concepts based on engineering data with minimal guidance.
• Create 2D layouts or 3D models to determine size, shape and arrangement of components; define part requirements including dimensions, tolerances, finishes, material and clearance.
• Produce installation, assembly and detail drawings from 2D layouts or 3D models.
• Perform analysis to support design and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical direction to manufacturing through all production phases.
