Job summary

FlightSafety International is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop detailed drawings and provide supporting analysis. You will create 2D layouts and 3D models, define part requirements, and support manufacturing through all production phases.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years of related experience, and proficiency with SolidWorks and PLM. Travel may be required in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with 2D drafting and 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with materials, manufacturing processes, DFM and PLM/configuration control.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings from engineering data with minimal supervision.
• Create 2D layouts or 3D models to define size, shape, and component arrangement.
• Produce installation, assembly and detail drawings from 2D layouts or 3D models.
• Perform analysis to support design and resolve technical issues.
• Provide guidance to manufacturing across all phases of production.
