Job summary

City of Phoenix’s Aviation Department seeks an Aviation Superintendent to lead the Facilities & Services Division’s maintenance and facility service programs across PHX, DVT, and GYR, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer focus.

You will oversee sections such as Fleet, Landside, Landscape, and Sign Shop, manage budgets, develop capital plans, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Five years of experience in airport operations, general aviation, or maintenance.
Three years of supervisory experience.
Bachelor's degree in airport or business management, or related field.
Combinations of experience and education may be substituted.
Evenings, holidays, and weekends work as needed.
Finalists subject to a background check.
TSA disqualification factors may apply.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, guidance, and management oversight for assigned sections.
Develop and manage operating budgets for assigned sections.
Lead the creation and implementation of capital maintenance plans.
Oversee maintenance contracts to ensure performance and compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cost-effective operational solutions.
Foster innovation, efficiency, customer service, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance.
