Job summary

Textron Advanced Composites Center in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Front-Line Leader for 2nd shift to oversee up to 25 unionized employees. The role focuses on safety, quality, cost control, and productivity, with daily direction, performance metrics, and cross-functional collaboration.

Eligible candidates have leadership experience in manufacturing and are comfortable with OT on weekends. You’ll drive process improvements, manage labor relations, and ensure on-time delivery while supporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of manufacturing environment experience is required
• At least 3 years proven success in a professional leadership role is required.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, detail oriented, and data driven with a strong sense of urgency.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work multiple shifts.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• This candidate should be creative, entrepreneurial, and an empowering team leader.
• Experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is preferred.
• Experience managing a unionized workforce is preferred.
• Military experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for the productivity of team and assigned production objectives.
• Provide daily assignment and direction to direct reports
• Conduct disciplines of employees when necessary.
• Manage in accordance with the local production union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Utilize metrics driven accountability for performance such as TAKT, earned hours, efficiency, schedule, overhead, and overtime charges.
• Achieve objectives in a matrix work environment and work effectively with multiple functions (such as Supply Chain, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Quality, etc.).
• Develop, support, and implement process improvements.
• Evaluate business impact regarding metrics, activity reports, delivery schedules, manpower, etc.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal, leadership, communication and organization skills.
• Collaborate and communicate with peers and team members across various shifts to resolve issues and accomplish organizational goals
